Moe's Voice Interaction is a new project that i am currently working on with a team in my MS-HCI Psychology Research Methods course. The purpose of this project is to research the ways in which voice interaction technologies can most effectively be used in the context of Moe's Southwest Grill. Partnering with Focus Brands, the company that owns Moe's and other franchises, our team is tasked with utilizing different research methods in order to determine the best course of action based off of user needs.
So far, my team and I have conducted observations in Moe's restaurants to identify pain points in the ordering process in order to see if there is a reason for voice interaction to occupy that space. We have also done lit reviews of the ways voice interaction are used in the food industry now for things like voice ordering. We have also prepared survey questions to identify peoples' evaluations on voice interaction and Moe's experiences, and in the future, we will conduct focus groups given our feedback to pursue different ideas for solutions involving voice interaction.
